National Excellence Institute Appoints Prof. Dr. Iram Mahmood as Vice Chancellor
Prof. Dr. Iram Mahmood is a distinguished academician, researcher, and academic leader with extensive experience in higher education, research, transnational education, academic quality assurance, and institutional management.
She has served in key academic and leadership positions at renowned national and international institutions, including the National University of Sciences and Technology, King Khalid University, Saudi Arabia, and the University of Greater Manchester Islamabad. She has also served as Founding Campus Director and Director Academics, QA & Exams, contributing significantly to institutional development, academic governance, and quality enhancement.
Dr. Mahmood holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering and possesses extensive expertise in nanotechnology, catalysis, material science, electrochemical energy storage, biosensors, and advanced nanomaterials.
Her international academic and research experience includes fellowships and collaborations with prestigious institutions such as Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, The World Academy of Sciences, and the City University of Hong Kong.
She has substantial experience in Transnational Education, international academic partnerships, quality assurance frameworks, curriculum alignment, and cross-border higher education collaborations.
Throughout her career, she has played a pivotal role in establishing and strengthening international institutional linkages, fostering global collaborations, enhancing academic standards, and promoting research, innovation, and academic excellence.
Dr. Mahmood has also contributed to international research and industrial development initiatives in collaboration with organizations such as the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, UNESCAP, and Attock Refinery Limited.
Widely recognized for her vision in academic excellence, internationalization, research advancement, and strategic leadership, Prof. Dr. Iram Mahmood’s appointment is expected to further strengthen NEI’s commitment to quality education, impactful research, innovation, global engagement, and industry-academia collaboration.
